Mbemba Jabbi is the Founding Executive Director of United for Development as serve as the Secretary to the Board. He is a community development and international development professional with over 25 years of experience working with communities and organisations across The Gambia, Ireland and Sudan. He has extensive experience in organisational leadership, programme and project management, strategic planning, governance, resource mobilisation, partnership development and capacity building.
Mbemba previously served as Country Director of United Purpose in The Gambia and Senegal, where he provided strategic and operational leadership, strengthened organisational systems, supported resource mobilisation and managed relationships with donors and partners. Mbemba is also leading the organisation's development, financial sustainability, programmes and partnerships.
He holds an MSc in Management, an MSc in Rural Development, a Diploma in Community Development Practice and a BA in Development Studies. His professional interests include migration and development, diaspora engagement, sustainable livelihoods, governance, community-led development and building partnerships.
