Mumini King is an experienced Gambian finance professional with more than a decade of experience in financial management, donor funding, financial reporting and compliance. He has extensive experience managing the financial requirements of major development programmes funded by institutions including the European Union, Irish Aid, USAID, IFAD, Penny Appeal, Waitrose Foundation and AGFUND. His expertise includes budget preparation and management, cash-flow planning, donor financial reporting, financial oversight, audit coordination, procurement compliance and partner capacity building. He is recognised for his strong attention to detail, adaptability, teamwork and ability to manage complex financial responsibilities in dynamic development environments.Mumini served as a Senior Finance Officer from 2021 to 2025 with United Purpose Gambia and Senegal, providing financial oversight across a diverse portfolio of development projects covering climate resilience, food security, nutrition, agriculture, livelihoods and value-chain development. His responsibilities included supporting project managers and programme teams with financial administration, preparing budgets and cash-flow forecasts, producing donor financial reports, coordinating verification audits and ensuring that programme expenditure complied with organisational procedures and donor regulations. He also provided partner capacity building and training, supervised finance staff, reviewed project management and financial reports, conducted bank and balance-sheet reconciliations, and supported budget revisions and financial monitoring. Mumini holds a Diploma in Financial Accounting from Alison (online courses) and is currently progressing through ACCA studies, having completed Levels 1–3 with Grace institute of professional accounting . He also holds a Senior Secondary School Certificate and certificates in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Earlier in his career, he worked as a supervisor for the Gambia Bureau of Statistics census activities, where he trained and supervised enumerators, coordinated data collection and ensured the accuracy and completeness of information gathered. With his combination of financial expertise, donor compliance experience, management skills and understanding of development programmes, Mumini brings strong financial stewardship and accountability to United for Development.
